Exuberance of Life

By the time he completed the incredibly elegant Piano Concerto No.22, performed for the SMSO by piano powerhouse (and also host of NPR's popular show From The Top) Christopher O'Riley, Mozart had already set to work on his opera Le nozze di Figaro ( The Marriage of Figaro). Listen carefully as the Concerto recalls characters and melodies from the opera. The concert concludes with one of the late 19th century's most joyful symphonic works: Dvorák's sunny and energetic Symphony No. 8 in G Major.
