DESCRIPTION:VETERANS CAREER DEVELOPMENT FAIR\n\n \n\nMichigan Works\, a subsidiary of Kinexus\, will host a career development fair for veterans on Wednesday\, February 26\, 2014\, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at its Benton Harbor location. The event is open to current Reserves\, National Guard members and military veterans. \n\n \n\nBetween 9:00 and 10:00\, the fair will provide attendees an opportunity to meet one-on-one with veterans services providers\, including Michigan Works talent development specialists\, the Whirlpool Veterans Association\, Berrien County Veterans Services\, Michigan Rehabilitation Services\, and several community colleges and universities. \n\n \n\nThe 10:00 to 11:00 hour will feature two workshops aimed at preparing for a successful job search. In Resume and Interview Skills\, the Kinexus business development team will be on hand to give inside information about what employers are looking for on resumes and in interviews. They'll also help attendees articulate how military skills are transferable to the civilian workplace. In Job Search Skills and Resources\, the Michigan Works talent development team will suggest the best websites for finding jobs and the Kinexus business development team will highlight some of the region's most military-friendly employers.\n\n \n\nThis event is free\, however\, registration is required by Monday\, February 24.
